But have you tried more unusual fruits? Barbados cherry, carambola, bael…do they sound familiar? Well, they do exist and if you are tropical and exotic food fan, these recipes are just for you.
#1 Barbados Cherry Pancake Recipe
This fruit is widely known as acerola or wild crepe myrtle. It is native to South and Central America and is extremely rich in vitamin C, but it also contains vitamins A, B1, B2, and B3, as well as carotenoids and bioflavonoids, which provide important nutritive benefits and antioxidant properties.
Idea: prepare your standard fluffy buttermilk perfect pancake recipe and cover it in a berry compote that includes acerola. Prepare it at home by combining 1/3 cups each mulberry, acerola, and strawberry, plus 1/3 cup sugar, and1 tbsp. lemon juice in a small saucepan and cook over low-medium heat until sugar is dissolved and reduced.

Idea: add the pulp (puree) of one Bael into your easy pancake recipe and complement with 1 tsp freshly groundpepper and 1 tsp fennel seeds.

Carambola or starfruitis native to the Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. The fruit in cross-section resembles a star, hence its name. The entire fruit is edible and is can be made into jams and juice drinks.
Idea: prepare a carambola syrup from 1 cup carambola juice and 1 – 1½ cups sugar to put on top and garnish with some star-looking fruit slices and whipped cream.
