Whether it is because of its crusty, fresh, delicious, clean white, mouthwatering base or its unlimited types of toppings which contain innumerable veggies, meats, yummy cheese, tangy red tomatoes, healthy green celery and savory sauces, even the fussiest person cannot say “no” to a pizza. It’s that delicious!  Today you can get hot, fresh, yummy pizza at your doorsteps just by ordering on phone, within no time, like at pizza delivery Singapore, and the family can happily relish a wholesome and satisfying meal. They are ideal for a small family meal and also for a big get-together or party. They come in all sizes. But won’t it be fun if we serve some equally delicious fresh beverages with the pizza? Here are some suggestions for such refreshing drinks that can ideally accompany a pizza.

Wines

Wine is an ideal accompaniment for pizzas. Pizza is basically an Italian food and Italy is a land of wines. Relishing wines with pizzas is an age-old Italian tradition that still continues. Whether you are enjoying the pizza in a pizzeria or in your home, there is nothing like sipping a delicious wine with it. Which wines are the best accompaniments for pizza? Expert Italian sommeliers suggest that while you wait for the pizza delivery, relax and sip the lightest bodied reds, like Chianti, Gamay or Pinot Noir. Even going Greek is a way which works well with pizza, because they have the same savory notes and mineral found in Italian reds, yet the fruit has a leaner property. Agioritiko and Xinomavro are the celebrity grapes to look for when you want to try Greek wines with pizzas.

Some gourmands prefer an earthy style Lambrusco as a great pairing with mushroom pizza. And for a spicy pepperoni pizza, a sweeter sort works great. Experts suggest not to be afraid of trying a white with pizza, like a northern Italian white from Alto Adige or Friuli.

Lemon Iced Tea

Iced tea is a perfect accompaniment for pizzas. It is refreshing, appetizing, health-giving and tasty. Here is a recipe of lemon iced tea which you can make easily.

Ingredients:

3 tea bags, 8 cups of water, ½ cup of lemon juice, ¾ cup no-calorie sweetener

Method:

Heat water in a big saucepan to bring it to a boil. Remove from flame and put in the tea bags. Put a lid and let the tea steep for about an hour.

Take the steeped tea in a large pitcher and mix the sweetener with it. Stir till it dissolves. Next stir in the lemon juice. Chill the tea in refrigerator.

Coffee

Though I have given coffee recipes on this website, this recipe is especially for pizza accompaniment and is slightly different.

Ingredients:

1 pound of good, rich, roast ground coffee, water, half-and-half (a mixture of half whole milk and half heavy cream), sweetened condensed milk or plain sugar (both at the time of serving).

Method:

Mix the coffee with 8 quarts of water in a large container. Allow to sit overnight or at least 8 hours at room temperature.

Take a fine strainer and line it with cheesecloth. Place this over another container and pour the mixture of coffee and water to pass through the strainer into the container. Keep this liquid in refrigerate. You can use it whenever needed.

At the time of serving with pizza, pack glasses full of ice and then fill them up to two-third with the coffee mixture. Add a splash of half-and-half. You get readymade half-and-half rarely outside the US. So, you can make your own mixture or use plain cream or milk instead. Then add 2 to 3 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. You can also use plain sugar instead.
