You can’t Afford to Miss the Noodle Station Soups when in Iceland

Among all my holidays, the Europe tour was perhaps the best, not only because the amazing cities, nature, monuments, transportation, infrastructure and people, but also due to some exceptional restaurants I visited there. One of the major ones among them was Noodle Station located in the beautiful coastal towns of Reykjavik & Hafnarfjordur, Iceland. I got the chance to visit one of their Reykjavik branches. Whenever, I remember the holidays, I miss the super-tasty noodle soups in this lovely restaurant.

Noodle Station is famous for noodle soups which they serve in three forms – chicken, beef and vegetable.

Noodle Soup with Chicken

Ingredients used in the soup other than chicken are cinnamon, salt, coriander, cardamom, cumin, star anise, clove, turmeric, white pepper, sugar, umami, soybean, wheat, water and flavor enhancers.

Chicken used is bone-in chicken and I prefer it that way because after all soups are extracts of flesh as well as bones and thus they become tasty. The flavor offered by bones makes the soup taste rich and of course healthy. The proportion of spices and other ingredients was just perfect to create a great gustatory experience.

Noodle Soup with Beef

Although on the first day of visiting Noodle Station, I tasted their noodle soup with chicken and I loved it so much that I could have had it all through my trip, I decided to try their noodle soup with beef in the next visit. And my decision proved to be excellent as this soup was just as awesome as the previous one.

I think the combination of spices and other ingredients was the same i.e. cardamom, cinnamon, clove, star anise, turmeric, cumin, coriander, white pepper, salt, sugar, soybean, wheat flour, taste enhancers and just the right amount of water to make it perfectly thick. The difference was of course of beef instead of chicken. The beef was beautifully tender and juicy and had offered its rich flavor to the full-bodied broth. This is due to the slow cooking method. All in all, you just can’t afford to miss even this soup when you are in Reykjavik or Hafnarfjordur.

Noodle Soup with Vegetables

After tasting the two non-vegetarian soups, I decided to try their noodle soup with vegetables the next time and patted on my back again for my decision. Their magical formula of clove, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, white pepper, coriander, cumin, star anise, soy and wheat flours, sugar and salt worked here too along with fresh, succulent, delicious vegetables such as spring onion, solid, healthy sprouts, and more. It was a meal that made me happy for the rest of the day.
